Andrea Jeremiah

Andrea Maria Jeremiah works as an Indian performer, actress and musician. The majority of her work comes focused on Tamil or Malayalam-language films. Annayum Rasoolum marked her Malayalam as well as Tamil acting debuts. Andrea Jeremiah comes from an Anglo-Indian family background. She was the daughter of a Madras High Court attorney. There is also one younger sister, currently employed as a research associate in Leuven Belgium. Jeremiah was born in Chennai and went to National Public School and graduated from Women's Christian College. Andrea began playing piano during her eighth year. At age 10 she was a part of a group of the Jackson Five called Young Stars which formed the base of her early musical and singing career. She also worked as an actress in her college. She was president of the Women's Christian College's Student Senate. Andrea's acting career began with Girishkarnad Nagamandala. In 2006, her role in the brand new Leo Coffee advert included Shiva. She also acted in an episode that was retransmitted on Podhigai channel. The actress performed all over India. She played a brief role in Kanda Mudhal which was the 2005 final episode. She sang for Gautham Vasudev's Vettaiyaadu. The director asked her to play one of his female leads for Pachaikili Muthucharam. The film was an adaptation of the novel by James Siegel Derailed. It featured Andrea portraying Kalyani an aspiring homemaker, whose husband engages in an affair and is threatened with blackmail. Andrea was cast in the film after Simran, Tabu, and Tabu had been approached. The film came out in early 2010 In 2011, she accepted for a role as Venkat Prabhu, who starred in Mankatha. It came out on the 11th of August, 2011. The actress made her Malayalam film debut with Rajeev Rathi's Annayum Rasoolum in 2013.
